Light a candle, not curse the darkness.

"Learning is the key to the problem.
The road is made by people walking.
The past illuminates generations to come.
Unpleasant truths are often the most useful.
Taking a book is not stealing.
Knowledge banishes doubt; kindness banishes anxiety; courage banishes fear.
Failure is the foundation of success.
The biggest mistake is the one not corrected.
Do not fear being misunderstood by others; fear being misunderstanding them.
What is learned in childhood
is engraved more deeply than in stone.
He who knows that he doesn't know, teach him.
He who knows that he knows, listen to him.
He who doesn't knows that he knows, awaken him.
He who doesn't knows that he doesn't knows, flee him.
If you want to climb a mountain, begin at the bottom.
Not to read for a long time is to lose a friend.
All men are brothers under the sky; only their cultures differ.
He who has money but no children is not rich.
He who has children but no money is not poor.
Laugh three times a day and you won't need any medicine.
He who must learn is near to knowledge.
He who likes to ask advice will grow.
Words are the keys that open hearts.
Have I been happy lately?
The right road is lined with wellsprings.
Study is a wife as beautiful as jade.
Truth has a thousand faces."

My first kiss

My first kiss happened when I was 17. I had had a huge crush on one this guy (let’s call him a, 16) for a while but I was pretty sure he didn't feel the same way. I was at work one day (I used to work at a bookstore by our school) and he came by. I was so nervous because I really liked him. He came up to me and I was behind the counter and I pretended I was still reading but I couldn't even concentrate because he was so close to me. When he got to the counter he looked up and said “Excuse me, I really wanted to get a book for this girl I like, but I’m not sure what she likes, can you help me?” I was really disappointed at first because I thought he liked someone else, but I agreed to help anyway because it was my job. So we went into the back part of the store and I showed him some books and then I showed him a copy of ‘Franny and Zooey’ and told him I really liked that one so he went ahead and bought. After I went to go ring him up, he got out a pen and scribbled something into the book and handed back to me. I was really confused and said “No, no you keep this” but he just laughed and then he leaned over the counter and kissed me it was amazing his lips were so soft and I could feel fireworks everywhere once he pulled away he smiled and said “see you later” before walking out but I was frozen I couldn't believe what just happened I opened the book he gave me and he wrote “Somebody told me you’d like this book” and I just couldn't stop smiling.
